Who cares if he comes to Cleveland? Name 3 college coaches that have come straight from college with NO prior nfl experience and succeeded.

Only reason this garbage unofficial crap is still in JN is because no mods are on.

Our OC came from the arena league! Plus look at all the rookie qbs that are successful. As the league becomes more pass oriented...college systems work better.

If Kelly succeeds in the NFL, it will be because of how he adjusts his playbook for the speed and strength in the NFL, and how he deals with the players under him. These aren't kids out of high school, but men making boatloads of money.

Do you think Chip Kellys wide open offense will work in the AFC North?

Will those make teams go to more athletic and smaller LB'ers? Or does the hard nose, run the rock football stay in the division?

It was reported that Bill Belichick was calling Kelly for advice on the Patriots offense..... Good enough for me. Oh 1 off the top of my head..Jimmy Johnson.

Imo his offense wouldn't work on most teams out there. It would have to be heavily tweaked for the pro game. Even if he had a QB like an RG3 which he wont, he would need some of the best wr's and a McCoy type of rb out of the backfield to offset the overall speed and talent his team will be facing.

Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Bobby Ross....Why 3? Just a random #? I agree it is rare for a college coach without NFL experience to come in and succeed right away, but it can happen.

He has to be using this as leverage for another team unless Haslam is promising a stake in the ownership. He is going to have a lot of work with that roster if he plans on using his system.

Jim Harbaugh as well. He had playing experience, but no coaching.
