Thumbs up Anyone else see the Vizio Pro-File on Chris Henry?

I just saw it today on FS Ohio around 3 pm, and it was an amazing interview/in depth look into the life of SLIM! It is a 30 minute long program they have been running on FOX Sports and not to sound redundant, but it was amazing. They asked Chris Henry serious questions and him and his wife answered them with sincerity. Chris was also playing pool at his house with Fanene who was interviewed in a relaxed environment as well (they also interview his top advisor/agent?).

In the end, a great show, here is a link to the series, so keep an eye out on FS Ohio for a re-airing of the episode, I highly recommend watching it!

PS - I just checked the link, and you CAN actually watch the episode on that website I linked to you (for free) so check it out ASAP!!!

I watched it, and enjoyed it for what it was. I think hes a very talented player and I know Im going to get alot of flack for saying this but Chris is definitely not the brightest bulb. I know hes shy but seems to have a hard time just communicating his thoughts.

I am glad hes turned himself around though and do hope he thrives on the field where he really shines and I enjoy watching him play.

I was a little impressed by Chris here. He does strike me as your typical young kid who wanted the world, but found you can't always get it. He paid the price and is now a better person for it. I also gained a lot of respect for Jonathan Fanene for sticking by Chris and helping him grow into a man. That's the kind of good character this team has always needed.

I can tell he was sincere because it looked like he almost was crying when talking about not being with his school friends anymore

Chris, I am glad to see that you are on the right track. I know what it is like to be interviewed, I had to appear on CNN and other media, not because I am and athlete or important person. I was hit with a tragedy and if you are not experinced, you get overwhelmed no matter how intelegent you are .

Slim demonstrates a lot of courage for having the willingness to get on camera and expose himself like he did. I respect that. A lot of what he said and how he felt, I could relate to. Shows me his sincerity. If I thought Slim could see this, I would want him to know that people who knew any at all about the real Chris Henry, already liked him. Like them, I didn't need to see his up-close, and personal video profile to know that - but I enjoyed it anyway. I would also want to somehow, anyhow encourage Slim to stay the course because I can see he is where he needs to be. Last, I have to mention that at one time I had not taken the time to get to know anything about Chris Henry - the person. Amidst all of the negative publicity slung all over media everywhere, I too judged Chris Henry last year when I maintained the Bengals should not have him back with the team again after his suspension. Now, I see I was wrong, and things worked out the way they were supposed to. I am glad for that. Hey #15, don't you have a pro-bowl to get to?

Great find. Great look into Chris Henry's transformation. A few things struck me.

-Yeah, he's shy. Don't know if he's smart or not. But, learning the complex Xs & Os of an NFL playbook, getting himself in top physical shape, performing as he does on the field, that counts for something. He's smarter than some give him credit for.

-I would have loved to hear the highlights of the "redeemer" conversation he had with Mike Brown, that brought him back to the team. Also, would loved to have heard of the conversations Marvin Lewis has had with him since then.

-His fiance seems to be in the same "shy" mode as Chris. Maybe that's why they're so good together. Kudos to her, too. Too many women would have bolted when all the money was gone. She showed the signs of "true love" by sticking with him through both thick and thin. Those types of women are few and far between. Better hold on to her tightly, Chris!

-No matter how talented, now matter how rich, no matter how popular you are, there's someone waiting around the corner to exploit you and then, when everything's gone, kick you to the curb. I think Chris surrounded himself with those types of people before. And, he learned that lesson the hard way about what kind of people those sorts really are.

-Not many of us have the kind of support of those Chris has around him. It seems many people reached out to him when he was the most desperate. We should all feel fortunate if we could count on the types of people Chris counts on, and have reached out to him.

-As quiet as Henry was in the interviews, we've all seen him pound his chest and get fired up on the football field. Clearly, football releases something in him that isn't ordinarily part of his persona.

Again, great interview.

Like that fact that everything he has said feels truthful. You can see the difference on the field as well.

4-0 When Henry get 2 receptions or a TD. At the the end of the day he is a more important player than many give him credit for.

Thanks for getting that up.

I'm not sure it's a matter of being shy, as much as being slightly embarrassed. How would any of you feel having to explain your past actions?

Man, I love me some Henry. This was a great watch and I hope he gets more playing time. He is a big part of us potentially getting to the promise land!

I'll be honest, i thought it was weird and a little overdone. You can tell Henry was uncomfortable with how personal the interviewer was getting. I applaud Henry for being able to turn things around for the better, but i think its too soon for this kinda publicity. Let him show that he can handle success first before we start calling him a role model..

I thought it was straightforward and to the point. Chris Henry is in the middle of a life transformation. That life transformation has to be complete before Marvin can rely on him on a regular basis on the field. I was mpressed by what I saw. He is sticking with his family and staying about from his troubled friends. It was good to see.

What really helped Chris was having a wife that stuck by his side. To me that's saying something alone because if he was just a down right bad person she would've left him. All the trouble Chris got into was about being with the wrong people but that was a choice Chris made and a bad choice it was.

In this case with Henry's troubled past it has made him a better person today.
