If your heating/cooling bills get too high, you might want to consider improving your insulation and investing in a pellet stove for heat. The CAB is an exceptional unit that puts out 50k btu's and is under 2k. Plus the chimney cost is crazy low, as it is simply double walled pipe. The stoves are so efficient that they don't heat the pipe up much at all. It gets hot, but not anything near hot enough to ignite paper, let alone wood.

Many homes don't have nearly the amount of insulation they should, and older homes are often devoid of even house wrap to shut out wind.


Just some thoughts...

This is what I was getting at when I was asking about the heating cost. Look into the insulation of that home.

97 dollars a month for my cell phone.

about 200 a month for college tuition

400 every 6 months for car insurance

during the semester I probably spend about 50-80 dollars on gas each month.


All this on about 7.5 thousand per year working at dunkin donuts part time.

You have other expenses also like fuel, food, and entertainment I'm sure you know of but didn't list.

It looks like you got just about anything, but lawn service is a requirement in some places (if you're looking at a nicer subdivision), and you might want a security monitoring service like ADT. Your gas/electric will change by the month, and recycling is usually seperate from trash.

My monthly bill (internet, light, condo fees/payment) came today. A whopping 700 bucks (split in two, just 350 for me). It pays to live where you don't need heat....ever.

Right. I just wanted to list those expenses relating directly to the house. Mainly I wanted to get an idea of how much gas and electric is each month. Which no one has really told me.
