whats the reality check? that you think Geno Smith as our savior lol? i respect your opinion. but there is nothing to indicate he will be like RG3 or Andrew Luck, but we will see. Its nice to see your dedication to an unproven player.

Carson was a stud coming out of college. where is he?
Leinart was a stud coming out of college. Where is he?
Clausen was rated as the most NFL ready QB in his draft class. Where is he?
Alex Smith was #1 pick. Where is he?
Vince Young was a stud in college. Where is he?
Blaine Gabbert was rated as the most NFL ready QB in his class. where is he?
Jamarcus Russell was a stud in college. where is he?
Matt Flynn was a stud out of college. who is he backing up now?
Tim Tebow was a good QB in college. Where will he be next season? a minister @ church?

Point being, is just because you are a stud or great in college, does not mean you will be great in theNFL.

Dalton is not the problem. Sometimes I think the only reason people gripe about him is because they have nothing better to do or simply like to read the word of their own writing, similar to when people complaining just to hear the sound of their own voice.

Alec Ogletree..We are in need of an outside LB...I don't believe in any DE's in the first round except for Werner. He'll most likely be gone by the 21st...& the only safety i like is Swearinger in the late 2nd or 3rd

Geno Smith just killed his pro day. Mayock was creaming over him on the NFL Network.

Since this discussion ended the Chiefs have traded for Alex Smith, though. So, Geno will now be drafted #2-#8 depending on if certain teams trade up or whatnot. I expect the Bills, Cardinals, and Jacksonville to be in the mix. The Browns might take a stab at him too.

Now, who should we realistically draft? Looks like we may need a tackle, unfortunately. That would kill the entire draft, basically. This team has too many needs to be wasting a 1st rounder on a tackle.

Tyler Eifert, TE
Kenny Vaccaro, S
Tavon Austin, WR
Xavier Rhodes, CB
Alec Ogletree, LB
Menelik Watson, OT

I suspect one of these will be our choice. Let's pray it's not a tackle.

Jaworski on Mike and Mike thinks there's a strong possibility the Chiefs might trade the #1 pick to a team that wants to move up and grab Geno at #1.

So, I guess Geno has a shot at going #1 still.

I wouldn't go that far. Mayock said he's a top 10 talent. He has the arm. He wasn't sure if he's a top 10 pick though because he's inconsistent.

As far as our needs, if we re-sign Andre, all of our top needs can be filled in rounds 2 and 3 with good players. Taking a tackle at 21 would not destroy our draft. I would rather use that pick to add talent to the team than fill a hole, but it wouldn't kill us.

He'll be the #1 pick in the draft. The Chiefs just hit the lottery.

The QB class is weak after him, though.
At the combine, he measured in at 6'2", 218 lbs. Ron Jaworski said on Mike & Mike this morning that he weighed in at 217 lbs yesterday at his pro day.

Yep. Those numbers are obviously fudged when you take them off the university websites.

He's going to be a star.

Jaws and Schefter both said he's a lock for top 10 and will likely go top 5 with a strong possibility of #1.

Yes, having to waste pick 21 on a tackle would be devastating. Quit being a homer.

And that means "Mayock was creaming over him"?

Why would it be devastating?

The value in this draft at safety, LB, and RB are in rounds 2 and 3.

No, the value is in round 1. Wasting a pick when we don't have to starts a trickle down effect.

There is only 1 safety worth taking in 1, and there is a good chance he won't be there.

Ogletree's arrest may slide him to 2, and there are several other good LBs available in 2 or 3.

I wouldn't take any of these RBs in 1. Franklin at 2B or in 3 would be just fine.

And Andre isn't gone yet.
