Lots of the national media guys are giving us props but most are not ready to say that we will jump ahead of Pits yet and don't have the heart to point out that we might jump ahead of Indy due to the whole coach situation. However, for the most part, I think they pretty much think we really could make the playoffs again and view us as being very dangerous at the moment because we are playing on all cylinders. Hope they are right.

Merril Hodge picking us absolutely shocks me. He is by far one of the biggest Pitt Homers covering sports on a national level. I remember him wearing those Pitt throwback prison uniforms after they had played on ESPN one week.

at this point I just want to not worry about anyone else and just take care of our own business.

if we keep the same focus we have, winning straight to week 16 should be doable.

Yup, I don't see them doing any better than 10-6. That's amazing for a rookie QB, especially considering the crazy coaching situation and a massive change in the roster. If we win out the Bengals should take the 5 seed.

I can see Detroit winning that game too. They have a good offense and are probably furious about the unjustified loss on Thanksgiving. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that one.

Tennessee is impossible to predict. They'll either win by 13 or lose by 20.

The Kansas City game could be a trap. Indy should win, and will likely be motivated from a loss to Houston the week before. But it's KC, and easy to overlook them, which is the problem: KC can play tough at times and might just steal this win.

I don't see Indy beating Houston in the first game, but the second game is possible if Houston has secured home field advantage.

To get ahead of Indy, Cincy probably needs to have a better overall record. So if Indy wins 3 more (10-6), that means Cincy must win all 5 (11-5). I'm worried that Cincy will even get a 10-6 record, which means Indy would have to lose 3 and be 9-7.

The smoker is right; I don't know where the hell you got those notions;

Myrtle loves us, as he's picked us more than anyone else on the ESPN panel. ALways praising our guys too; he's a Pittsburgh homer, but he REALLY like our team (like Cowher).

King has been the biggest Cincinnati draft homer since '09, and has said nothing good about us since then.

not entirely necessary with the Steelers falling, everyone laments that we lost to the Browns and now that loss is fair game with the Steelers losing there now too and if the Ravens beat the Steelers next week, the Steelers would be 3-6 in the AFC and if the Bengals enter Pittsburgh at least tied with the Steelers and win that game, the Bengals would essentially clinch the wildcard with that game since we would split the season series, do no worse than split the division record but win the conference record over them outright

and in 2 weeks the top 4 in the afc could be locked in with the Broncos/Ravens and the Texans/Patriots on Monday Night that week, if the Ravens win that leaves the Broncos locked into 4th having lost to all 3 division leaders, and a Patriots win gives them leverage over anyone in a tiebreaker sweeping all the division leaders this year
