I say draft a QB, if Dalton still needs mentoring after two full seasons in the NFL, then we have problems. Rookies are cheaper than vets, so promote Robinson, hide late round QB on the PS, if we get desperate later in the season (aka Dalton injury) there are always vet QBs at home, especially at the rate of which younger QBs are taking over.

Dalton is not the problem. Sometimes I think the only reason people gripe about him is because they have nothing better to do or simply like to read the word of their own writing, similar to when people complaining just to hear the sound of their own voice.

I'll take Moore or Jackson, I'm good on Anderson. I wouldn't mind Campbell either.

Grad is no worse than some of the names i've seen mentioned, and he already knows the system and the team.

Tavaris Jackson? Derek Anderson? I would argue that these guys are actually worse than Grad.

Agree, Grad is ok backup man. He knows the offense very well, has some maturity and a cool head to him, and in the little bit that he's been needed, he's performed adequtely. Nothing flashy, just reliable.

Back up QB is an interesting position. While ideally all he will do is hold a clip board and possibly act as a mentor of a younger qb. However, they must be good enough to come in on a moment s notice and in the worst case scenario, play out the rest of they leading the team. You want some one good enough to do that, but not so good that you create a qb controversy every time you loose a game.

I have no problem with Gradkowski for the primary job of a back up, I have never seen him drop the clip board and Andy seems to be progressing fast than most people (me included) predicted when he was drafted. But if something were to happen to Andy, I do not think Grad could take us to the post season.

Personally I would like to see us bring in Tavaris Jackson. Jackson is a quality qb, but I do not see him causing a qb controversy. He is mobile has a decent arm and is mature enough (I think) that he could accept a back up role.

Let's keep Zack around as 3rd string and maybe see if Sanu could take that spot and save a roster spot in pre-season. We know he can run and throw the long ball.

Reliable doesnt lose games but it doesn't win them either. When I was watching the Skins game after RG3 went down on the 40, needing a touchdown and a 2 point conversion to win, I figured it was GAME OVER. Cousins came in and played like a champ.....wining the game with a field goal in OT. I just dont have that kind of confidence in Grad......I just dont feel it.

I agree with this but would like to see the team draft a qb.
As to several of the other posters, no offense intended but I am not a J.Campbell fan at this point in his career.
He has a good arm but his wind up/delivery is very slow. Makes decisions late as well and with the way this offense is ran he will get killed back there...imo.
The Bengals tend to get in obvious passing situations via penalties or poor playcalling much to often and in that scenario Campbell is less than impressive when facing good pass rushers.
I would take Grad over Campbell all day everyday with this team and offense.
