That will only get them a one game play-in. We have to win the division to avoid that. The Cards can't sustain their current pace or they will shatter all sorts of team records. We have hung in there without our ace for a long period and losing our clean-up hitter in game one. I think we'll be in the race the whole year and hopefully can pull it out in the end.

I feel like I've been thinking that the Cards can't keep their pace for several months now.

But still, after all that I'll take 2.5 games back.

By the way, I live in Cards country and one of their announcers is just an awful human being. Al Grhabosky or something like that. Former player I think. He makes me hate that team exponentially more than I would without him.

Good thing I can't hear him because Yadier Molina already causes me to curse in front of my children.

I hate everything about 'em. Yadier's neck tattoos are pretty rad though.

Against Cardinals in Cincy, Reds showed weak areas......the starters don't go deep enough into games, and the bullpen isn't deep enough.....That extra inning game the Reds lost, those were some real stiffs the Reds were bringing in to pitch in relief....Hoover is still pretty green, and that guy that gave up the grand salami is minor league all the way. .....The good news is we don't play St Louis again until later in the year.....hopefully by then Jocketty has made some moves and added to the bullpen......against St Louis, Chapman and Broxton did OK, but the other guys in the pen didn't, and some just don't have any bussiness on a team trying to go to the World Series. Some belong in the minors.

At least Reds egos got some help by playing Cubs 4 games after St Louis.....but that changes after today.

In 1990 Sweet Lou wore the carpet out to Scotts office asking for more pitching every day.....and maybe thats what it takes to win the world Series.....No way the 2013 Reds can be content with their pitching after the last St Louis series.....room for improvement.

My hope is this Reds team really hits it's stride in August and September anyway, thats what Earl Weaver use to want out of his Baltimore Orioles in the 60s and 70s....If we can stay in this thing and then get red hot the last 2 months and stay hot in October....

A healthy Sean Marshall would be huge.

Parra and Hoover are this year's Cairo and Valdez.

Yes, me miss Marshall big time....Parra is minor league all the way.....and Hoover is green and just looks so tight out there on the mound....but these starters need to go more than 6 innings, because that doesn't cut it.....If we want to win in October over these other teams heading to the play-offs, the Reds need to get alot better. It won't be the Cubs in the play-offs.

Got to keep Cingani up in the bullpen until we get MArshall back. Parra isn't a major league pitcher

Well, sad to say....but until Cueto can show he has recovered from last years play-off injury, Cingani is being a very good 5th starter.....Too bad Cueto just didn't throw the ball in the play-off game. Batter steps out, don't stop and hurt your arm, just throw the darn thing anyway. ....I hope Cueto can get healthy, but for now, he is damaged goods and we can't count on him. His injury looks like this could keep going on all year.

Now let's see if the bullpen can screw this up yet again...

I guess it's just a given at this point. What has happened to LeCure? Jeeeesus.

Latos should be like 9-0.

5-5, Cubs winning...

Dude we've put Partch, Parra, and Hoover out there. IF that aint a few crusty *****es and a handful of ragtags, I don't know what is.

Also, I'm a fan of Cincinnati professional sports. Thinking positive is not something that I know how to do.

Do you think the bullpen intentionally throws away Latos' wins?

It can't be a coincidence that it happens just about every single time.

Dusty lost that one, he should have used Chatman, in the eight inning.

That was a get away day game that they had no desire of winning. That's what makes it so frustrating. After their 5th run they gave up.
