One important thing is a team with a good screen game can really slow a blitz heavy defense, think Steelers like yesterday.

A couple well timed, well executed screen plays and the blitzers have to slow up a step to be careful not to over run the play.

How many times have we railed against the shovel pass, but it has worked well recently? I agree the O and D players need exposure to a well constructed screen pass. Surely someone either a player, or maybe even a coach knows how to make it work.

Also, I would like to see the flat pass to Hawkins rather than to AJ.

Yes, Andy has to make a perfect throw or the WR has to make a great catch. Hardly ever is someone not covered well. I don't know why this is.

Other than AJ, the ability to create separation by our WRs is weak

I've been wondering this for years. Especially at a time like these past few weeks when the pass rush is getting to our quarterback, why not slow it down with a screen play?

That being said, I'm pretty sure we tried one this past week and got called for illegal touching since Dalton through it off a lineman's back.. I guess some practice wouldn't hurt..

I AGREE!!! I was saying this all game...

I know everyone want to forget about the horrid playcalling and enjoy the win, but I am seriously starting to wonder whether Gruden is cut out to run this offense.
