Other than the obvious head scratcher in the 3rd round, I could really go along with this mock.

Other than the obvious head scratcher in the 3rd round, I could really go along with this mock.

The thing I don't like about this mock is it gives no explanations for making the choices at all. The reason I bring this up is because they have us taking Fluker. No reason to take Fluker if we re-sign Smith. If we lose Smith, then yea a RT becomes a clear need.

I would remove Mathieu from third round and put a OLB there, as OLB is definitely a need, there are great players projected in that round, and Mathieu is too much of a risk that early.

If we were to get a backup QB in the draft, I like Dysert, as I think he has a good skill set but just needs time to refine those skills.

I like most of the selections.

Not bad, but we will address LB in this draft so not overly accurate IMO. I do see Fluker as a very real possibility if Smith asks for too much $.

I'd say that the reason they have us taking Fluker, is because there are currently only two Ts under contract, Whit and Collins. Smith re-sign is an uncertainty, Whit was playing with injury a good part of the year, and hopefully we've seen the last of Dennis Roland.

Completely with you on getting rid of the Mathieu pick, good spot to take a WR, LB or another RB.

I understand the uncertainty, but by the time the actual draft would roll around, FA would have already happened, at least for players like Smith getting signed somewhere. Mocks IMO should be done where FAs are already factored in since FA happens prior to the draft. The only way really to get around that is to list an alternate pick and mentioned that if Smith were re-signed, go with alternate pick instead.

You're right, as OchoCincos mentioned in his earlier post, I would most definitely forego the Mathieu pick in the 3rd, plenty of LB talent available at that pick.

Well, I didn't write the mock. However, I agree that it would be nice to have their reasoning for the pick, like some of the other services.
