Thats right, it doesnt get any better with a GM you still hate every decision they make and you still consider them the antichrist. I saw the light and converted to Bengaldom because of three factors:

1. I went to UGA and there are a ton of georgia boys on this roster including my favorite player AJ Green

2. I worked for the team
-- This team bought my allegiance when I worked in their front office in 2010 and 2011

3. The owner actually has made a recent effort to make good business and football decisions.
-- Before you burn me at the stake lets look at it. After 2009 the team needed a top flight reciever, TO fit the mold and I know cincinnatians were excited by him (you can tell by the number of TO jerseys you still see in the stadium on sundays). The team ****** in 2010 so they revamped it. Yes we let J Jo go but to be honest he and Carson didn't want to be here and we couldn't afford to keep him and lock Carson out. If anyone tries to say that Carson shouldn't have been locked out then you have never worked in a locker room or with professional athletes. Then in the draft we got a new QB, the best young WR in the game, and an addition to the OL (Boling). Then in 2011 we went 9-7 and made the playoffs. We snuck in but for the preseason number 32 team thats good. We were out classed in Houston no doubt, but we went into the offseason and got a CB, G, WR, and 2 DTs. This draft day execution was amoung the best in the NFL. In FA we added secondary depth, oline depth, and what should have been an improvement to the backfield. This year there have been growing pains including a loss to my former dolphins (better than we give them credit for). MB was nominated for executive of the year in 2011 and while he wont win that award this season he constantly hunts for a good product he just doesn't overpay free agents for that product. By the way the Steelers, Ravens, and Patriots use this same model.

I know mediocrity *****. Trust me I've been there as long as any of you. This team has not been consistent that is almost more painful. Getting your hopes up only to have them dashed the following season it honestly worse than having low expectations. However, those of you that are still crumudgens after the win don't realize how good you have it. This team is strong and while its owner does like making money, he still drives a lumina and is hardly the greedy ******* you make him out to be. This team is on the upswing and despite their current record if you can't see that you are too busy looking at the past to realize the potential of our future.
Name one other coach in the NFL or College if you can , who has the kind of record
Marv Lewis has and is still coaching the same team. And by the way, after 9 years when do you expect the future to manifest itself. LOL. If you like and desire mediocrity, you picked the right team to latch on to.

The fact that Coach Lewis pulled the psychological strings that caused a young talented team to respond with obvious confidence and attitude is admirable and experience extraordinaire. It was THIS type of mental work by Coach Marvin Lewis as a Defensive Coordinator that transformed Ray Lewis and the Ravens' defense. Marvin Lewis was Ray Lewis' personal mentor.
Coach Lewis "..Grew this young team up." He also challenged his Coordinators, too. After all the Bashing, Criticizing and Name-Calling, Give this Man credit!

In my opinion, Marvin Lewis has never been the problem and I believe he's a good coach. The problem over the years has been taking chances with risky players in the draft that never panned out, bad luck with injuries, and lack of depth due to the owner unwilling to spend money on QUALITY free agents...and the majority of all of this falls back on the owner, NOT Marvin Lewis.

If the task was wasting an entire decade of my nfl life then mission accomplished! Way to go marvin!

PS- beating the reigning superbowl champs does not mean you are good enough to win the superbowl.
