As dumb as I think the rule is, refs got the call right.
I personally think being forced out should be a penalty until the ball crosses the line of scrimmage, but it is what it is. |

So, illegal contact cannot occur if a QB scramblings; however, pass inference can? And, the push occurred in the sweet spot- right after Dalton scrambled out of the pocket and before the ball was out of his hand. There probably was a three second window. It must be hell to be as perfect as they are.

Yeah, the side-by-side replay and explanation made things a lot clearer. By the rules, they got it right. Dalton was out of the pocket. It's just a dumb rule. It makes it possible to have a QB scrambling with no eligible recievers due to no fault of their own.
