For a 4th string reciever Tate is pretty darn good. Two weeks ago he made an awesome 3rd down reception on the sideline. Brandon Tate has made a few clutch catches this year. Tate has also made several very good kick returns. I really do not understand what you expect for a 4th string reciever. I think Tate is good enough to start for a few games if the injury bug hits the reciever position. I understand he is not Randy moss, but is he really that Bad??? He is not cribbs, but IMo he is the best kick returner we have had sine Tremain Mack, David dunn, and Cory Dillon(rookie year).

He is miles worse than Mack, Holt was a better kick returner, Cosby was better at both, BScott better, Warrick tons better (though moreso on punts), the list goes on.

If BScott wasn't supposed to be part of the offense, he would've been strictly a returner, and Tate wouldn't have been signed. I can almost guarantee it.

Furthermore, he's our #2/#3 with the snaps he's getting, not #4; stop making excuses.

Tate is terrible and shouldn't be playing in the NFL and I really believe when we release him---his career will be over because no one else will want him. Oh--I forgot about Arena league.

They were all in the same ballpark numbers-wise, but what they all had that Tate doesn't, is a TD (not Cosby).

Tate hasn't even sniffed an over 50 yard return on a kick, and this is with a BETTER coverage team that their years.

He ran one back on us the first game of the season 2010 which was the year before we picked him up from New England, didn't he? I can't help thinking that when he did that the Powers That Be over-salavated a little and believed he could do that more often.

Tate will not be released by the Bengals unless he is injured. If he is released he will be picked up by someone. Tate's problems are mental errors not physical. I really see a receiver with talent that has not put it all together yet. This really is Tate's first training camp in our system. In new england I thought Tate was a nice depth reciever. I really beleive he is a much better kick returner then he is given credit for. Tate has been very close to busting a few long ones and I think he will break one before seasons end. I think Tate is more explosive then he appears.
