Andy overthrew four of those that I can remember ... see my post #15 ...but OK on one AJ was slowed by PI, so make it three overthrows.
Of five passes i can think of off the top of my head, one was called PI, on one he was bumped by Polamalu to slow him down, on one Polamalu arrived the same time the ball did and he broke the pass up (hit AJ right in the hands, in stride), one he almost came down with (4th and 22) and one he had to adjust but the ball still hit him in the hands.

EDIT: One pass to Jones in the end zone was a bit under thrown but it was in his hands and he could have made the play.

Geno was heard to say, "Get the **** off me, fatboy. I gotta throw this ***** down."

And for good measure, Geno had 2.5 more Ben throw-downs in the playoff clinching win in Pittsburgh.

A jump ball is when a receiver goes deep, the quarterback just throws it up, the receiver doesn't have the defensive back beat, so it just becomes jumping up and catching the ball at its highest point.
Larry Fitzgerald has a MSc in this move.

This was what many people *****ed and moaned about all last season, and a big reason the whole 'arm strength' debate even began. I guess no one is ever just happy to have a QB putting up pretty amazing numbers for a second year player. Balls will be under and overthrown all season long by every QB in the league. Focus on the fact that we have a receiver near the top of the league in most categories and a young QB making great progress, leading us to our first back-to-back playoffs in over 20 years.

I'm not comparing AJ to Randy Moss, but does anybody remember Moss with the Vikings? That's all they did! Moss would either outrun people or just jump over them to catch deep balls.

AJ's 6'4, most corners are 5'10 or 5'11, and most safeties are between 6'0 and 6'2, so I like his chances!
You could say the safety has a running start, but hitting AJ in stride would allow him to have a running start, too.

Can anybody tell me why we don't do that?
they tried several times on sunday vs Pitt..

what i was most happy about is handing the ball to Tate and letting him run it (okay shovel pass whatever)

But thats what ive been calling for all season.

Moss and Culpepper used to do it all the time and that's what I'm saying- AJ can outjump any defensive back.

I'm pretty sure people *****ed because Andy's arm strength didn't let him lead the receivers when they needed to be led. We're talking about a whole different scenario and one where AJ can just go up and get a ball. He still needs arm strength for this and you're kind of killing your own argument because who cares if he has arm strength if it's not accurate, which not being accurate is what causes the whole overthrowing.

He'll get there with the long ball accuracy but that's for when AJ has a step on his man and I'm just talking about, when a defensive back is running stride-for-stride, just throwing it up and letting AJ outjump his man.

From what ive been seeing some of his misses on the long ball has been due to not being able to step into his throw or having the throw it high to avoid a Defensive player in his face.
