A2: thats debatable.. John Conner / Owen Schmidt have been mentioned here im sure theres a few others out there worth considering as well (remember super leg guy Tronzo lol) A3: FB = Pass Block or Go and hit that guy thru this gap.. Like running back its probly one of the easily positions to plug and play (minus the Blitz pickups) we havent asked our FBs to do much.. If Schmidt is available im all for it. I remember JC was a 4th round pick cause i wanted him cause of his name. and local product... May the Best human wrecking ball win.

We do have a back up FB on the roster. You probably just didn't recognize it, as on the Bengals team the back up FB is called TE. I could see them activating Quinn, using Charles in the H-back/FB role, and using Quinn as well, the blocking TE. Would suit the Bengals perfectly right now, go with 3 TE and one WR, as AJ is the only WR to get a look anyway. (I was just joking about the 3TE set, btw)

I never paid a lot of attention to Schmitt as a pro. I know he was a dynamic beast for in college for WVU, but lost track of him as a pro. What is his downfall? Is he not a good blocker, does he not catch the ball well?

Not as good a blocker as Pressley, on par as a receiver (his best attribute), and it goes without saying: every single team he's been on, he's been a #2 FB, NOT the starter.

Maybe its just me, but I want somebody crazy like this throwing his body around as our lead blocker.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcIhNJo1t4A Truck you can rely on pff all you want but the fact is he has been active for 15+ games in each of the first four years of his NFL career. And I won't discredit him for being stuck behind damn good FBs like Leonard Weaver, Michael Robinson, and Marcel Reece. |

Re: Chris Pressley
Just hope Pressley is back next season at 100%. The man's a beast. It seems like anytime the Bengals have a big run, he's there just blasting open holes. Don't recall this good of a Bengals FB since Jeremi Johnson before he got fat. That 03-06 stretch where Rudi Johnson got 5178 yards rushing at 4.1 a carry and 45 TDs.
Dude needs to get well soon.

If we sign a fullback I would be surprised if he played a lot against the squeelers. |

I will never take your advice on fullbacks anyways, considering you think Lo Neal sukked. No offense good buddy.

Where's James Devlin? He was pretty decent in preseason games. Or Jourdan Brooks!

I like the thought of using Orson Charles, what a great weapon he could be with his versatility

I actually think running 2 TE sets might be good for this team. It gives a nice punch at the line, it appears both Gresham and Charles are pretty good at neutralizing a LB shooting the gap. Plus I think Charles is more of a receiving threat than Pressley, so we may wind up with a more versatile offense.
