I think the ideology of larger LBs is starting to fade towards leaner, quicker, faster LBs.

I understand why Maualuga and Burfict has lost weight.

My point is that the Bengals probably are not going to focus so much on the "prototypical" sized LBs going forward in the 2013 draft. They will start considering LBs that are smaller than our historical LBs.

Landon Johnson and Caleb Miller were both undersized LBers drafted in the ML era.

Landon Johnson & Caleb Miller were 3rd rounders in 2004.

BTW, in 2005, the Bengals drafted Pollack & Thurman in 2005.

Evidently, at the time, ML didn't feel comfortable with the undersized LBers.

First time posting on here but I was watching the game again on DVR and the play you're talking about is 3rd & 5 in the 3rd qtr with 8:22 on the clock and Peyton throws the ball to Hilman on a quick out. Rey got the tackle initially after he missed the first time but thanks to the help of Crocker

I am stunned that they played him. However it seems like Zimmer isn't under the same, " don't play the young guys rule" as Gruden is. It is getting to the point the team needs to figure out what they have in the young guys. Activate Herron, D. Evans, Get Whalen, Sanu, Charles, Thompson, Iolka, Dre, and Mays some serious playing time. Cause whether you like it or not Bengals fans the season as far as playoffs go is over.

Ive been asking myself whats worse for the team to show promise every odd year or not at all? At least with Browns fans their team doesn't get their hopes up and then po po all over them the following year. Oh well here's to the even year Bengals blues.
