Does anyone have a plasma TV?

LED is not better than plasma. You can't begin to compare the black levels or the motion handling.

4 color TVs are a gimmick.

LCDs and LEDs can still get dead pixels. Plasmas can still have image retention (though any good one has technology to fight that)

These will be sweet, but still years and years away from being at a decent price...

Because OLED is around 1000 times faster than LCD, images appear super-sharp and more detailed, despite the same resolution. Plus, since each OLED pixel can be turned off, blacks are truly black.

Yeah, I saw the OLEDs mentioned doing my research, and they said they are better than plasma but a LOT more expensive.

I remember hearing about 20" OLEDs for a few thousand. It will be nice to see actual LED tvs and not this LED-LCD crap.

Most Aquos offer a 240 hrtz refresh rate as well.

I have been working with TVs' for a few months now and I actually like the LG brand. They are what we consider one of the 'true WiFi' tvs on the market. (meaning) You can actually pull up streaming webpages instead of pre-loaded 'smart' apps.


A few weeks back it was selling for over $1400, now Sam's have them for $1000. Comes with 6 pairs of 3D glasses, and the user 'smart' menu is really user friendly.

Of course as mentioned there are better tvs out there now like the OLED, but for the price, when I get my tax return with that I plan on also buying the:
LG Soundbar:


(and)

LG 3D BlueRay player:


I know I sound like an LG rep, but, like I said, I know there are other models (good or bad) out there, but I could/will be a very happy person for years to come by spending only around $1300 here in the next few weeks.

Update:

Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago my wife's car died. So that cut into the TV budget.

So we wound up going with:
