All of you are missing the big picture (some are on the right track), and that's that, while Andy's long ball hasn't been that great (but that bad, either), his accuracy is off because he just improved his arm strength over this offseason, so he hasn't ever been able to throw the ball as far as he can now, which means that he obviously needs a while to get the accuracy down on the long balls.

Can he develope the long ball? I think his long ball accuracy it's the only thing missing in his game.

It's not his arm strength. It's his long ball consistency and accuracy.

He makes some great long balls and he also misfires maybe half of them.

Can he develops this ?? Can you imagine AJs numbers??

Who dey!!
Exactly.............. see above.

I'm glad he got this bad game out of his system. Dalton grew up a Cowboys fan. Next week he has the opportunity to beat them. I think he'll shred them into embarrassment. He's due a 300+ yard game, and AJ's over due for a TD or 2 himself.

I wish I was in Cincy next week. I'd damn sure get myself to PBS for this game.
I might still go but it's supposed to rain until Tuesday (raining now) and, even though the crippled section is covered, I just don't know how many people will go, and the tailgate's definitely off.

Maybe, but I think that Gresham and Charles (I think Charles might be better at it) running up the seam will definitely either take coverage off of AJ or leave them one-on-one with a linebacker, which I'll take that all day-everyday. I think Marvin Jones could be the number two we need because it's not that difficult to catch a ball when you're single covered because the safeties and backers have to worry about every other weapon on offense, including the Law Firm.

I know Andy doesn't have the arm strength of Culpepper or Brady, but I think we could start doing like they did with Moss where they run around and buy time, and then just launch it up and let AJ go get it.

Interesting fact I learned on NFL Network today.

Only three QB's have throw 20+ TD's in their first two years. P Manning, Marino and Andy

I agree ...When AJ has M2M down the sideline Andy would be better not trying to make the perfect throw on the sideline..He should give the ball to AJ towards the Hash and let him run under it IN BOUNDS
He has repeatedly made this mistake ..UR OUR MAN Dalton..
just think about it...

It is his arm strength, as I've illustrated on many occasions. The effort it takes for Dalton to throw the ball deep makes him prone to inaccuracy.

I'll look for old posts on the issue and cut/paste, as I don't want to re-type it again.

If he's in that group, that ALONE speaks volumes.

Flacco has a cannon for an arm, and I see him miss Torrey Smith deep all the time. Contrary to what some seem to believe, NFL QBs don't typically complete 60-70% of their deep passes. Andy's long ball numbers are basically the norm. If you doubt me, look it up.

Tom Brady rarely goes deep and when he does, his numbers are worse than Dalton's. To anyone knocking Andy's long ball, I also challenge you to pick a non-Bengals game this weekend and scrutinize the QBs as hard as you do Dalton. I bet you will see some missed deep throws, if they even attempt them.

People keep saying the ball was over thrown and it wasnt that was how he intended to throw it.

Dalton threw a fade to AJ(common play all season), but AJ faked inside and ran an out. It was a miscommunication.
