So i was thinking Marvin wants to be a team built to compete in the AFCN a strong running game ( even though he nevers gets a legit RB thats a threat ) yada yada yada, so i was just curious how we have done in the AFCN with Marvin in charge and its pretty much .500 but when i started looking at the numbers win/loss against AFC/NFC teams it got kinda interesting. Anyway here are the numbers.
Div games Marvin is 29-29 Home Div record Marvin is 15-14 Away Div games Marvin is 14-15 AFC Games Marvin is 50-65 BUT! NFC games Marvin is 22-14-1 Just thought this was interesting and not what i expected while i was going threw the numbers cause everything seemed to be .500. So yea Marvin why dont ya take a shot coaching in the NFC so we can get a real coach here. |

No team in the NFC would want Marvin Lewis as a head coach. Asst. Coach maybe...

I have 2 restaurants in FL where I could use a new burger flipper. That is about all the NFC would consider him good for as well!

If Andy Reid is an option as head coach, i dont want him. He is to laid back for this team.
If it was up to me i'd take any of these guys Rob Ryan Sean Payton Bill Cowher Brian Billick Jon Gruden But unfortunatly it's up to Mike.

clean house/end thread
especially the dinosaurs that have been performing HJs for MB secretly. Why do we still have ancient coaches here? it better not be something scandalous.

Sean Payton: He will be a Saint Bill Cowher: Great coach, but is not coming back, and wouldn't take over a rival team Brian Billick: Also won't come back. Making quite a bit of good money with NFL Network Jon Gruden: The most possible one, but don't see it happening. One guy I really like, however, would be Ken Whisenhunt. He knows the AFC North well, always puts together a good defense, made the Cardinals into contenders, even with a QB like Skelton and Kolb, they have beaten good teams this season, although, he still has Kolb and Skelton, and that O-line is horrendous. Would love to see him here. Good coach. Passionate. Knows what he's doing. Although, too good to be true.

Mike Brown would'nt hire anyone that could make real change, so you all need to start thinking that way. Options would include retired nfl coaches, high school coaches and could include Walmart store managers. Heck he might even look at a few college coaches that have losing records.

Please stop wishing for coaches you would never see coach in such a poor ran organization. No credible coach would be dumb enough to come work for the worst owner in the nfl. Mike brown never hires outside of the organization and the one time he did bring in marvin, i feel he only did it at the time because he didn't hv to pay him much and at the time it was good for the media because there were so few black coaches back then. it enhanced market media brought hope and most of all it made it seem change was coming from mike brown but the change was ultimately a scheme that brought in money and attention but it has never been a consistent formula of winning because mike brown is to cheap to do the necessary things to continue building a winning organization and he continued to not invest in his team the right way. Just think about it. D i c k Leabue a future hall of fame coach couldn't win here because mike brown would not build around what was needed , didn't keep players around who were drafted by us , or add key players to build like the steelers, the patriots or any other good solid organization does to always stay in the hunt, and simply reloads rather then having to rebuild like we do every 5years or so. No coach that is credible will ever coach for this organization because they know mike brown will ultimately not spend money on his own product to succeed but he would rather be cheap, and deceive fans with false hope every couple of years, take your money and let players we develop leave and does the same thing all over again. NO ONE WILL EVER SUCCEED UNDER MIKE BROWN PERIOD!

The stats also reflect that no NFL team would want a losing HC without a playoff win in 10 years of coaching.

I agree. I cannot understand what everyone sees in Gruden. He had a decent year last year. DECENT. NOT spectacular or great, DECENT. Period. Then the head coach talk started. Everyone is so desperate to win, they jump on the jock of anyone that they think can lead us to the promised land and then act disappointed when they don't. Just let things play out. Let players have 3 or 4 yrs of outstanding play before declaring them Hall of Famers and let coaches be successful for 3 or 4 yrs BEFORE annointing them the next Vince Lombardi. Consistency is what makes a good player or coach, not a flash in the pan season. Gruden has not impressed me at all this year. I think defensive coordinators are out coaching him by a mile. Zimmer on the other hand is proven, but unfortunately he hasn't been given the tools. He has been given a bunch of has been's and never was's in the secondary and it doesn't matter how he schemes, they can't hang with better offenses.

That will work out well for him as long as he has another ray lewis to mask his deficiencies as coach
