I never called you a hater. You called yourself a hater. I said the haters would be mad at the settlement and you replied you were not mad. Why would you respond and say you are not mad??? Most people are not mad about the settlement.

And that is exactly the way it should be. This nurse never filed this case just to make money (as many here claimed). She just wanted to keep this from happening ever again. Sounds like both sides handled it like grown ups. I commend them both. |

I would like to see what their training consists of and how they will handle such requests in the future.

She declined to say whether money was part of the settlement adding there were "several factors" involved. TRANSLATION>>> I received money and I'm not allowed to say...

Hmm, methinks me have a battle here.
If not for the actions of one Reverend Al Sharpton. Don Imus would still be at MSNBC and the CBS Radio network. While it is fact, that Imus stuttered those unfortunate words. He was going to be at most suspended. Reverend Sharpton spearheaded a potential boycott of advertisers and had talks with management at both MSNBC and CBS Radio network as well as flamed the situation in the media. So, I again repeat. If not for the actions of one Reverend Al Sharpton. Don Imus would still be at MSNBC and the CBS Radio network.

Blaming Sharpton for Imus getting fired is like blaming the police for Sandusky being in jail. If they hadn't raised such a stink he would still have a key to the Penn State lockerroom. |

Lol...
![]() Second nurse files race discrimination lawsuit against Hurley..... FLINT (WJRT) - (02/21/13) - Lawsuits are mounting for a Mid-Michigan hospital under fire for allegedly honoring a father's request that no black nurses care for his baby. A second race discrimination lawsuit was filed late Thursday afternoon by a second black nurse working at Hurley Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or NICU. The allegations are the same in both lawsuits. The new lawsuit names one additional nurse along with the same nurse manager cited in the first lawsuit we told you about in an ABC12 investigation last week. See that story HERE. The second nurse sued, in this second lawsuit only, is alleged to have written a note posted on an assignment clipboard that read, "Please, No African American Nurses to care for (redacted) Baby per Dad's request." Hurley's CEO Melany Gavulic said Tuesday the father's request, last fall, was never honored and all nurses were available to care for the baby. ![]()

Imus has been on the air since the 70's. There was no tring to push the "shock" bar higher. I have listened to him over the years and he has said far worse. He made enemies over the years especially and this was an opportunity to get him. In contrast, Howard Stern has said much worse racist, sexist, homophobic things while he was on the public airwaves and has not been touched. Why? Because he did not get the wrong people mad at him. I listened to both of them over the years and I worked as an intern at WNBC radio network, when that entity was still living and both men worked at WNBC. I spoke to Howard several times and I am sure he would remember me. I only spoke to Imus once, so he would never remember me. Fortunately Imus is employed now with WABC and their radio network , unfortunately he is with Fox Business Network What Imus did is different from what Sandusky do. Imus got paid from being fired and subsequently, received a better contract. Most reasonably people thought Imus was going to get suspended but not fired. Imus was parroting comments what was said in movies from Spike Lee and others about "Nappy" heads. Nappy headed "shovels" is not a means to be fired. And I repeat, if Al Sharpton was not advocating Imus's termination, Imus would not have been fired. In contrast, the police had a civil duty to arrest Sandusky when charges were brought to him.
