Chiefs placed DE Glenn Dorsey (calf) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The transaction also may end Dorsey's career in Kansas City. Done for the year due to a recurring calf injury, Dorsey has also battled a bad knee and was essentially a non-factor in 2012. 27-year-old Dorsey's rookie contract is up after the season, and he'll be eligible for unrestricted free agency in March. Thanks to Berserkerone88 for reminding me about this guy. He has been misused his whole time in KC as a DE. I would like to see what he could do moved back to DT and paired with Geno.

I don't think Dorsey is what we need. We need a NT.

Sadly, I agree.
If we can get him cheap, I would still love to get him. He is a little under 300lbs right now I believe.

Dorsey would be best being used like Geno. Not sure we want Geno off the field for long enough to justify signing Dorsey.

It would depend on cost.
Im sure Glenn would be excited to get back into a 4-3.
I think Dorsey + Geno in the dime sets would be incredible.

I think a 4-3 team will spend starter money on him. I do agree that if the cost is right that would be a hell of a rush up the middle.

I agree with this but a talent like him might push ppl cut or trade the ones who don't want to play. The good teams do this. Who cares draft status pay those who want to he here and win.

His knees aren't shot. He had a knee injury this year. Atkins is our only pass rusher who can stay healthy. If he goes down we need someone to take his place and to compliment him on obvious passing downs. In a limited pass rushing under tackle role the wear and tear on Dorsey would be much less than an every down 3-4 DE. This is just the sort of situation an under achieving misused former high round pick would excell in.

Why? The team just drafted two players who have looked good in limited action, have two starters they are dead set on, and another rotational guy who they really like. The team is incredibly happy with the DT situation.

I have no doubt had he been there we would have taken him.

Yes that would have been a big fall in the draft because he was a guy that was suppose to be a "can't miss". He was dominant in college.

It is a perfect example of a team drafting a guy and limiting his potential by playing him out of position. He clearly has been playing out of position his who career.

Who would he replace though?

Why? We have the same guy, with just as much up side in Still. I say give the rookie time to develop.

Remember Geno Atkins was not a star his rookie year, infact Still and Geno both produced the same amount their rookie years, so far.

I like Dorsey when he came out, and think he got shafted in a 3-4. Dorsey maybe a good replacement for Sims, if he is gone at the end of the year. It all depends on the money.
