Default Games like this Bengals need to win.

These are the types of games that make you cringe a bit. On paper, we have the better talent. We have the better QB. Yet the game is on the road against an opponent that is feeling confident after beating the Colts. I hope we come out gunz blazin because in my opinion the Jags have no business making this game competitive. They have the 30th ranked defense to go along with the 31st ranked passing attack. Hence......you stop MJD....you win the game.

If we want to be considered an elite team in the NFL we need to beat teams like this on the road. The Redskins was a nice start now lets keep the train moving.......

So long as this team continues to struggle against the elite teams of this division and league, these non playoff team wins are crucial. We don't win against the lesser teams, you can kiss goodbye the playoffs. We need to head to the bye with 3 more wins at the very least, because it all picks up from then on.

I think the Bengals prevail, but don't count on this patchwork D to make it a shut-out.

Yep, this pretty much sums it up.

we have way to many hard teams (manning brothers back to back, dangerous chargers team, steelers, ravens) to lose games like this

Yep, if the Bengals come out and put up a couple of quick scores, Jax will likely go one dimensional.

Our offense should do fine, its the defense im extremely worried about.

We have a tendency to make horrible QBs look great when they play us.

It'll be fun/interesting either way watching two coaches who practiced against each other for years, play each other. Hopefully Zimmer gets the better of Brat and the defensive from the first half of the Redskins game is what shows up tomorrow. I don't think you'll see Blaine Gabbert running any tripple option but who knows.

The injury report is outrageous! How can so many injuries happen to so many players in such a short time? The DBs have trouble when they are healthy. Now, it looks like the pass rushers are also dinged. Not a good formula for success. Cross your fingers against the Jags.

Come on Mal-a-losa, do your job! Tackle Jones on every play whether he has the ball or not - you need the practice.

This is an absolute must win if we're to do anything at all. I think you could also bracket the Miami/Cleveland games in that too. Sounds a bit melodramatic, but I think we have to be looking to be 5-1 to be in with a shout of the playoffs.

Steady men, steady. Haven't even seen the glint of their bayonets yet. Stand your ground men.

Absolutely.. I was thinking about that earlier this week. The Bengals absolutely need to be no worse than 5-2 when they get to the bye week to help ensure a playoff spot. That'd leave them with 10 games.. Steelers, Ravens, Cowboys, Eagles, Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, Giants, Chargers.

That's a pretty tough final stretch. If they go 4-5, they end up with 9 wins. 5-4 will get them 10 wins. 9 should get playoffs, 10 most certainly will with how badly the AFC started off against the NFC.

Of course I hope they win out. .... But yeah, being no worse than 5-2 going into the bye week means they only need to play .500 ball to get a playoff spot. That's a huge advantage.

Thinking the Bengals will crush the Jaguars right in front of their own home crowd.

The games we really need to win are in our division. I hope we pound Jags too.

I'm confident we'll win but I think our defense will allow Blaine Gabbert to make this more competitive then it should be. He'll probably look far more competent then he has any other game. If our defense can get it together and we actually start beating the good teams we wont get much respect.

So far this season feels a lot like the last one in that we can beat the average to bad teams but can't beat the good teams. Putting up the points we have the last few weeks is a great start but until we can do it without necessity we wont be beating the good ones.

I don't think beating the Jags is going to have any bearing on our eliteness !

However, to have any shot at making the playoffs we need to win games like these for sure !

Need a good solid professional win here. Go in and take care of business. Gotta beat the teams you are supposed to beat. They have done that lately despite always finding a way to make it interesting, which I have no doubt it will be tomorrow with that patchwork set of DBs. I still say we get a hard fought win and vanquish the one known as Bratkowski once and for all.

If we lose it it will definitely have a bearing........it will show that we are NOT elite.

Maybe they don't know how to cheer. Like our home crowd.
