Default Tomlin's decision to cut Porter...

Mike Tomlin must be a friggin' psychic... this is the second negative thing Porter could have brought to the table this offseason... and sting even worse if we paid him that big contract instead of Troy.

I don't hate Porter, I'll miss seeing him as a Steeler... but the man hasn't had a good time in the spotlight this offseason.

Glad we ain't dealin' with it.

I hope it will be larry foote. He probably was 2nd behind porter on the team in trash talking. The crazy thing is some steeler fans on our message board in the past used to rip foote which is hard to understand. He doesn't have the range from sideline to sideline like ray lewis but the guy is a solid tackler who is rarely out of position. He is reliable and stays in the lineup something kendrell bell who was more talented couldn't do.

He ain't psychic, no crystal was needed to see porter was overrated and has been for years, what's his carreer average? 3 tackles a game?

Agreed! Even in his better seasons I think he was a product of the system. He was never a Kevin Green or even close for that matter. I don't believe that Pittsburg will lose anything, but in fact may gain with a younger faster player who can also be a product of the system. Pittsburgs biggest loss was and still is Bettis. Bettis kept the defense off the feild and kept the opposing defenses honest for the offense to operate. I think Cowher realized that even before his last season.

the thing about Porter that a lot of people didn't realize is that everytime i saw him get to the Quarterback it was totally unabated. No body had laid a finger on him, on the other hand, everytime i saw somebody tangled up with him, he was done. getting to the quarterback clean is great but it has less to do with the player and more to do with the system. A great pass rushing LB can shed blocks and get to the QB. watch a highlight real of merriman, he's scary.

He doesn't have to agree. See Steeler fans are not a homogenous group of robots who toe the party line. Surpisingly enough we're all people with our own opinions about things. I think Larry Foote is mind numbingly average at best and would love to see him replaced. If he doesnt agree that's his perogative.

It makes me sick to do so, but I 100% agree with you and said this exact thing for years. Joey couldn't shed a block to save his life the past 3 years. It made me vomit when Ogden went out this past year and the Ravens rookie LT came in and ate Joey's lunch all game, totally pathetic.

Don't tell Joe that though, according to him I thought Joey was the second coming of Lambert right up until we released him.
