bengals Clinch playoff spot

With our win against the Colts today did we at least clinch a playoff spot?

Colts did we haven't. We have a 2 game lead over the Ravens. We can't clinch that way.

Would a win next week against the Steelers clinch us a playoff spot regardless if the Ravens win or lose next week?

We have 3 games to go.

Pit wil be tough at there home. Then we have back to back home games against the Vikes and Ravens.

Ravens are 2 games behind. Do the math.

We need the Dolphins to beat the Patriots to have a chance to get the number #2 seed. And the Lions have to beat the Ravens next week and we have to beat the Steelers to clinch a playoff spot?

It doesn't matter who the Pats lose to.

We beat the Pats. They lose and we win outright and #2 is the Bengals!

I posted this in another thread. Im pretty sure this covers it, though might have missed another scenario.

We win two of the last three, we are in as Division champs. We win last 3 while Pats lose 1, we are #2 seed.
We win 1 of the next 3 while Balt and Miami both lose 1 more game each, we are in.
We win 1 of the next 3 while Balt wins out (meaning they beat us), we will have to hope Miami doesnt win out.
We somehow lose the next 3 which seems improbable for sure, then we would have to hope Miami and Baltimore only win 1 more each.

We have tie-breakers over the Jets & Chargers in case we all end up 9-7, and the Miami & Balt don't win more than 1 each, as Miami has the tiebreaker over us as would Balt.

Lets look at it this way instead of clinch.

Screw clinch at this moment for our Division. Lets talk a few more games.

As said we have a tough game against Pit at home. Then a game we shall win against the Vikes...and perhaps a raven team fighting for there lives.

I don't care what anyone says it will be a very tough 3 game stratch.

So if we win next week and the Ravens lose that should at least clinch a playoff spot for us, correct? I was never good at math. LOL!

According to Yahoo, if we win vs the Steelers and Baltimore loses to the Lions, we clinch.

Clinch 3rd seed:

Bengals beat the Steelers, and
Texans beat the Colts, and
Lions beat the Ravens

Clinch 4th seed:

Bengals beat the Steelers, and
Lions beat the Ravens

Clinch a playoff spot

Bengals beat the Steelers, and
Patriots beat the Dolphins

We cannot clinch the 2nd seed yet.

If we had beat the Ravens we would have clinched yesterday, but unfortunately we need to either win 2 more or win one and have the Ravens lose.

If we can handle business in Pittsburgh, I like Stafford and Megatron handling the Ratbirds in primetime the next night. We should be celebrating that division title around 11:45 Monday night

I think this will happen.

Worse case scenario - we lose and Ravens win. Then this thing could drag out to the last game vs. Ravens for the division title. If we beat Pitt & Minnesota - division will be clinched no matter if Ravens win both their games over next 2 weeks. Winning this game in Pittsburgh is really important to us.

At this time in 2010, pre-Andy, we were 2-10, having lost 9 straight. That seems like eons ago.

If the Bengals go to the playoffs, I will be HUGE excited.

First time in franchise history that the Bengals have been to the playoffs in 3 consecutive years. Back-to-back has only happened in 1981/1982 & 2011/2012.

Dalton & AJ have gone to the playoffs every year.

Carson Palmer & Johnathan Joseph can only imagine what might have been if they didn't quit on the Bengals. No tears lost here.

The Bengals still have $7.2 million in salary cap space to roll over to next year.

Who Dey!
