Default Who do you take?

If you could have us draft one of these players for KR/PR who would you take?

I like Jordy Nelson better. He is actually talented and 6 foot 2.

For a return man; I would like the Bengals get Jayson Foster. He is amazing KR/PR specialist.

Watch his video or not. He is worth a 7th round gamble.

I would be very happy to get either Eddie Royal or Dexter Jackson (Wouldn't it kind of be cool to have 2 guys with the same name on our team?) But if we were to try and go after them, I think we would need to do with one of our earlier on picks. Somewhere between rounds 2-4. If we don't want to to that because there is a better player available or they have already been taken, I think we could look at Kevin Robinson from Utah State. He's definately a sleeper that comes from a less than noticed collece on the broad scale of things and would be a good pick if we could get him around the 6th round. He's definately not the fastest guy out there but he can make people miss, and does have talent at the KR/PR position. If the Bengals could pick him up in on of the later rounds, it would be a great pick.

DeSean Jackson and here's why:

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sco...anjackson.html

Thanks to nfldraftcountdown.com

Although to shoot down my own pick ,the last blurb about star receiver problems is a little chilling...

And for a suprise pick: Chris Johnson from East Carolina:

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sco...isjohnson.html

He is a Joe Cribbs type back with insane speed who could also be a WR.

I like Kevin Robinson. I like kr as a pick, and i had it, as a priority, as high as the third
round. But now with the wr situation, i think the third round pick will be a Chad and
Henry of, pick. That means kr is pushed back a round or two, in favor of a wide
receiver pick. One could say that Chad and Henry have cost the Bengals a shot at
Royal. I still like Robinson though.

I do not like Dextar Jackson.

People seem to think he would be a good returner but truth is he was not in college.

He only avg 8 yards per punt return.

I do not want any short receivers either really. I would prefer not to take wide receiver on the first day of the draft either; unless we get an extra pick.

If we did get one of the top receivers; my choice would be Linas Sweed out of Texas. BUt I think Jordy Nelson in the third will be a still.

Other. Tracy Porter is a better return man, plus he was First Team All-Big Ten as a CB. With Deltha's chronic knee condition I believe CB is a big need for us this year. We have no NFL quality CBs behind Hall, Joseph, and Oneal. Drafting Porter could stone two birds with one pick.

Tracy Porter, CB/PR, Indiana, 5'11", 188, Has returned 19 ints for 413 yds (25.8 avg), 35 punts for 477 yds (13.6 avg), and 2 fumbles for 147 yds (73.5 avg). Had the fastest short shuttle time among CBs at the combine and the 5th fastest forty (4.37), Recorded 83 tkls as a senior.

My dad posed a hypothetical to me last night:

What if we could trade with Dallas for the 22 and 28, by giving up the 9 and like a 5th(maybe it was a 3/4th, but I'm thinking it was 5th)?

He was like, then we could pick up Mayo and Sweed in the first.

I was almost drooling at the thought. He then said, we'd need to pickup another receiver or maybe two. Before he could say anything, I started laying out the plan.

Eddie royal in the third would be too soon to go receiver again, but Jordy Nelson in the fourth wouldn't...that way we could grab a DT in the second and possibly third. If Forte falls to our first 3rd, we pick him. If not, Tashard Choice is a possibility at the compensatory pick.

Now, this was all of the top of my head, but I liked the idea of one of these two options:

*1st option*
22) Mayo
28) Sweed
2nd) Laws/other penetrating DT
3rd) Bryant/Rubin/Big DT
3rd Comp) Choice
4th) Nelson

*2nd option*
22) Mayo
28) Sweed
2nd) Laws/other penetrating DT
3rd) Forte
3rd Comp) Remaining Big DT(Rubin/Bryant/Okam)
4th) Nelson

I was loving getting a LB that can play all 3 spots, a big fast receiver, the DTs we need, a RB, and Nelson. Now, if only this dream could come true. Realistically though, I see us going after a WR on the first day, then another in the 4/5 round, and possibly one in the 6th or 7th if they are the best value/we think they could develop.

When it first started i was like man are you kidding me, this guy's slow. Then they turned
the speed back to normal. Maybe the music made him look better. Nah, doubt it.

Wow, amazing. Where is this guy supposed to be in the draft? Foster i mean. I like Jordy
too, but i already have seen him. Never even heard of Foster.

We could use him like Randle El was for the Squealers, but this guy is faster and plants
his foot and gets positive yardage unlike El's squirtin around and trying to make people miss.
Plus he can pass.

All i can say is wow, the guy is good. Make for one **** of a matchup for the opposing teams.

Only thing i am questioning is his pass catching. Didn't see much of that.

Thats fine. I said I liked both, therefore meaning I would be happy with Eddie Royal as well.

Looks impressive... but...

What am I missing? If he is that good (Walter Payton winner... I assume that's at least fairly good...), why isn't he projected to go in the draft? I can understand that even if he was pretty good, he could be projected as a late rounder, but I can find him projected going anywhere in the draft? Why is he so low? What's missing?

Anyway, is he worth a 7th rounder? Yeah, probably... but, we could maybe sign him as an UDFA?

Hmm, I dunno... could be worthwhile!

I think the Bengals should draft a guy that can contribute in other ways along with kick returning. Royal is not going to be a Devin Hester or Joshus Cribbs. I dont even see Jackson in that light. The only guy that should be drafted for strickly returning is DeSean Jackson, otherwise, find a WR/KR or CB/KR or RB/KR.

DeSean Jackson?? Do we really need a ridiculously undersized wr with an attitude problem? Sure he's fast, but how do you ever expect him to beat bump and run on the outside to create any sort of a downfield threat?? Terrible fit. He is a slot receiver at best and I believe TJ does a pretty decent job of fulfilling that role for us.

Hmm..NFL countdown didnt think that beating bump and run would be a problem. Ever heard of putting a guy in motion?

Here's another sites analysis:

http://www.ontheclockdraft.com/profi...n-Jackson/2178

http://www.footballsfuture.com/2008/...n_jackson.html

The only thing about him that bothers me is the blurb about "star receiver concerns"
