Default My thoughts on Draft...

Id like to see this Draft... Its not super sexy, who cares??? I dont... Its not flashy, but its a base for good football... Id like to see us change to a 3-4, can we do it PLEASE??? All the information Im using comes from walterfootball.com, a site I really like... I know there will be compensatory picks and what not, none of that is accounted for here... Here it goes:

1st Round Selection
LT
Michael Oher, Ole Miss
Height: 6-5. Weight: 318.
Projected 40 Time: 5.19.

I think this is almost unanimous amongst alot of people I know some here like Andre Smith, if you do thats fine its the position that is the need...

2nd Round Selection
DE
Tyson Jackson, LSU
Height: 6-5. Weight: 292.
Projected 40 Time: 4.85.

Along with my train of thought of changing to a 3-4 I would like this pick because of this guys size, and I think Antwan Odom's potential would be fully recognized if he was able to transition to a right OLB and specialize as a passrusher... It has worked for Travis Laboy in Arizona who split time with Odom on Tennessee's D-Line, so this pick would kill 2 birds with 1 stone...

3rd Round Selection
C
Antoine Caldwell, Alabama
Height: 6-3. Weight: 294.
Projected 40 Time: 5.03.

This is a little bit of dream cause I think he may get taken in the 2nd round but Ive seen several mocks that have him going into the 3rd round... Obviously a position of need...

4th Round Selection
DE
Pannel Egboh, Stanford
Height: 6-6. Weight: 280.
Projected 40 Time: 4.82.

Again, I like this guy because of his size and weight, and he's part of my rebuilding the line to fit the 34...

5th Round Selection
OLB
Jonathan Casillas, Wisconsin
Height: 6-2. Weight: 227.
Projected 40 Time: 4.51.

Definitely a tweener, but at the outside backer position I think he could provide depth...

6th Round Selection
TE
John Phillips, Virginia
Height: 6-6. Weight: 252.
Projected 40 Time: 4.81.

I love this type of TE... Big body type whos had a decent season catching the ball... he could possibly develop into a servicable blocker...

7th Round Selection
CB
Brice McCain, Utah
Height: 5-9. Weight: 189.
Projected 40 Time: 4.36.

This guy was really only picked because I didnt know what else to pick, and his ability to return kicks beat out me picking a FB with this pick instead...

The players that I've listed outside the SEC, Ive not seen them play... Like I said, this is all based off of walterfootball, so if any of you know anything more about these guys I'd like to know what you think. Theres alot of other things that would have to be done in the offseason, but as I've said before until I see an accurate and complete list of this years available FAs I'm going to hold back from speculating on the players we might consider looking at...

We're not moving to a 3-4.

Interesting draft if we did though.

I do not think we will be switching to 3-4. We actually have looked Okay this year playing the 4-3 so there is not reason to switch now.

We will also be picking to early for Michael Oher. That is only at this time we could win out and drop down the draft or Oher could have a wonderful Combine. Overal pretty good mock.

I'd love to see us trade down but we're going to need some other QBs to declare and maybe Crabtree too. Gotta have some ammo that attracts the needy. I want an O-lineman early and a Center no later than rd 2. I'd like to see a MLB with an early pick too...maybe Spikes? I don't see us going 3-4. We have improved, we just need a passrusher now and unfortunately, the lack of sacks will also be blamed on injuries just like Mikey is blaming the losses on lack of Palmer

2 DE's?

We have like 60 million wrapped up in the starters that we have...

People may not like the production that we are getting out of them, but face it...that is what we have, and what we are going to have rushing the passer for a few more years...
