Shocking guys would risk suspension for throwing punches in a pre season game.

Taylor threw like five punches, he could be in deep trouble with Mr. Goodell.

Can you say stupid?

That really doesn't change anything.

But I do admire your deduction skills.

`Sounds like him and Legarett Blount need to run the Oklahoma Drill.

Crazy thing is it was like the 2nd play of the game....How do you get that riled up that quickly unless there's a history?

You know, it would be kind of funny if he got suspended though. I guess fighting in a game is a worse than brawling in bars and nightclubs

This smack talk fourm talks more about the Steelers than most Steeler boards. Not surprising lesser teams compare themselves to the Steelers to gauge the overall success and accomplishments of their franchise.

I didn't see the play but Ike Taylor is pretty even tempered. Why he went off is beyond me. The officials made up for it be calling 4 phantom personal fouls against the Steelers, which allowed the Giants to score a late touchdown.

He's the one guy I'd like to see suspended. Maybe we can get a guy who catches a ball.

Something you hear every Steelers game:

"...in front of Ike Taylor"

Ball caught
Ball dropped

whatever...its always "...in front of Ike Taylor"

If he gets suspended you really think you won't hear the same from the guy behind him on the depth chart?

Not Smack, but just a straight up question.

Its worth the risk. Ike gets a lot of credit for his coverage...but, IMO, its more he's good at staying with them and making a tackle. He's not a guy breaking up passes or, God forbid, making the interception.

He's not getting suspended. Not from the NFL anyways, the Steelers may do some sort of in house disclipline but that scuffle was nothing..Geesh, what the heck is the problem? That was nothing, heck - regular season that's just 2 penalties no ejection. The fact it's a preseason and we're all trying to protect players health caused them to be ejected.

I didn't mean to imply I thought he *was* going to get suspended for the ejection...just that he's one of my least favorite players so if he does I'll live.

For the record, I did not say he should be suspended. I said it is stupid to put yourself at risk for that possibility. Throw one punch and you are ejected. You throw 4 or 5 and it gets a longer look.

But, you are wrong. You throw 4 or 5 punches in a regular season game, youj are ejected. Ask Whittworth and Henderson (Jaguars) outcome on 2008 game with one punch thrown by Henderson and none by Whittworth, but both were tossed.

This smack forum talks about the Steelers because the Bengals are in the AFC North. I don't frequent many NFL boards but I doubt Colts/Eagles/whatever fans discuss the Steelers at length.

I'm hoping he doesn't get suspended....i'd rather have him on the field (because he stinks) than on the bench and let a better cover guy play in his place.

Apparently you haven't checked the depth chart and realized William Gay is back there with the DB backup unit. 10 yard cushion city all game with Bill Gay at CB.

OP, can't say I condone the fight, but I'm happy he's doin this stupid stuff now as opposed to a regular season game. Get kicked out in a regular season game against the Gents and I'll throw you under the bus.

I was just more interested in the thoughts of the coverage skills of the guy's behind Ike Taylor. Just seemed that he was a decent CB to me, but I'm not a big follower of the Steelers.

Tomlin, seemed to feel differently about it, he was obviously very upset and made it quite plain that those types of penalties are not going to be tolerated ever, His words were 12 months a year they will not be tolerated. I think Ike is definitely on the hot seat here.

Well, when people know they aren't any good, or that failure is on the horizen, they tend to lash out.. Play dirty, cheat, try to even the odds, because they are a sub-par player on the field..
