Default Joe Flacco

Does anyone else think that Joe Flacco looks like Bert from Sesame Street? I just noticed it myself and want to make sure I'm not crazy.

Surely not here in JUNGLE NOISE though. Maybe in "around the NFL" where discussion unrelated to the Bengals is discussed!

I'm pretty sure this has been posted before. In fact, I know it was on a couple Browns boards as well. Anyways, everyone agrees. Joey F=Bert. We're still wondering who Ernie is, but I digress.

Dislaimer: One of my in-laws hails from Cleveland - they told me about it. I've never been to their boards. Scout's honor.

LMAO - yes, its funny.

My brother and I (loyal Ravens fans) have generally come to the consensus that Joe is pretty huge dork. Major dork. He's got a cannon., but he's a dork. Saw some vid of Boldin chatting him up on the sideline in TC and he was just - embarrassingly uncool and just...geeky. Interviews are funny too, although he's sort of getting better at them.

I dont know I find Flacco's interviews sort of entertaining. Especially, when he doesnt really want to do them. He talks a lot of smack.

Yeah. Last year before the KC game, he was quoted as saying something like we are going to go out there and show KC that they cant beat us or something along those lines. Made good BB material for KC that game. He did the same thing before the Jags game, saying something like we are not going to let them keep us out of the post season. Made BB material for Jacksonville to. If Tom Brady said some of the stuff Joe says, it would have be front page news but Flacco's not that big of a star yet. So, his trash talk doesnt get reported.

He isn't that big of a star ever. Not just yet.

Trash talk? Flacco? And you say this on a Bengals message board, of all places?

http://www.daylife.com/topic/Joe_Flacco/quotes

Flacco is hardly a trash talker. He's also not a graduate of the Peyton Manning Politically Correct School of Boring Interviews either. He's seems to try to answer questions honestly. Ocho talks trash. Bart Scott talks trash. Rex talks trash. Kelly Washington talks trash. Philip Rivers talks trash. Joe Flacco? I disagree. Completely.

Finally, Joe's numbers after that horrible, mean-spirited, angry, "smacktalking" episode: 26/43 307yds 3TD 1INT Guess they showed him.

It ain't smack if you can back it up.

He should be a decent qb as his career goes on.

I don't think those are all from Flacco.

Unless he refers to himself in the third person more than any person on the face of the earth.

What the heck does this being the Bengals board have to do with anything? I think your stuck with this shy boy image of Flacco that the Baltimore media has created. Any of his teammates will tell you thats not the case at all and you only have to catch him with his guard down to see it for yourself. He talks smack about opponants during interviews, he curses during his interviews, and he does it all in a mono tone, which is what makes it entertaining.

On KC:

Quote:
"I donít think itís a good way to begin it. Weíre going to come in here and play well and I donít think theyíre really going to want to play us by the end of the game."
Sounds like smack to me.

I think you found perhaps the one quote where he "talked trash", and it also happened to be a quote that aroused the attention of the KC media, which is likely how you knew about it to begin with. Call it a rookie mistake, although Joe was heading into the first game of his second season when he said it. Guys have said a lot worse before games.

As for buying some "shyboy" image of Joe, no, that's just weird. Joe is a man, and if he cusses or spits or picks his nose well that's freaking fabulous. He's got a goofy awkwardness that I laugh at. If he's a fiery competitor, again that's freaking fabulous. He's not a pretty boy, ala Tom Brady, and I like that.

As for the message board comment, I guess it was said because this is the home of Ocho (whose trash talk I actually find mildly amusing). But you know what? We're two Ravens fans debating on a Bengals message board about whether our own QB is a trash talker. I suppose I find that odd. So let's just agree to disagree on this rather inane subject.
