trade leon hall for a late 2nd and late 4th from say the eagles and use our top pick on Patrick Peterson. then maybe we could draft a rb and a receiver

Because Leon is the only CB that can stay on the field?

Also Peterson is gonna be a safety in the NFL.

Why couldn't Peterson play CB?

No but he is too big to be a corner in the NFL.

Trade Leon? Really?

Leon is going to be a good CB in this league until he hangs'em up. It would be stupid to get rid of this guy right now. Another pointless post from ISBGM.

how do you know peterson couldn't come in and play just as well if not better? plus we get a late 2nd we could use on a rb since benson might not be here next year and get a 4th

Can't really see this happening. Even under a "blowing up the team" type of scenario, Leon is one of the guys that you would want to hold onto and build around. If anything, try to sign him to a 4 year contract extension.

Why would we take that risk?

How many CBs as good as Leon Hall or better have come out of the draft since he has been drafted?

Too big? Since when is being a physical freak a negative? I could see if he was too slow, or if he wasn't very fluid in coverage, but if you watch tape on him you can see that isn't the case. There is a reason he is the top CB prospect for the draft, hell he is one of the top prospects in years at CB.

If someone wants to trade for him then they can give up a 1st rounder or not get him.

Peterson may be a good player, but Leon is at his peak right now. If it a'int broke, don't try to fix it. Any RB with some size can do what Benson does for us, the problem is the O-line not executing. The NFL Network guys did a great job illustrating that if you don't put a helmet on every guy running at the backfield, then someone will get in the backfield and make the tackle. The RB is a dying breed in the NFL, they have short shelf lives and are easily replaced by guys. It is the system, not the runner.

If JJoe leaves we might end up going with Peterson anyway.

if they are going to trade either one of our top two corners i would rather see them trade J Joe. Hall is one of the top corners in the game and so is J Joe and Corners are not exactly a dime a dozen or just floating around like running backs are, not to mention i wouldn't let either Hall or Joseph go for anything less than a 1st rounder plus your talking about trading a proven player that has been in this league since 07, hasn't missed a game, is one of the top corners in the league and then turning around and drafting a PROSPECT which is far from a guarantee. Yes Peterson is a good prospect but he could bust just as easy, i would rather keep the proven guy. We got Benson off the scrap yard if he leaves im sure we can find someone to replace him off the scrap yard or later in the draft. This is not a good idea at all, we need to be talking about getting Hall locked up with an extension not trading him.

Key word being PROSPECT, again when you draft a player there is no guarantee that guy is going to live up to the hype. The year J Joe was drafted Tye Hill was supposed to be a can't miss Corner that was projected to be a top ten pick and the best corner in the draft, he ended up going 13th overall to the rams and where is he now, he busted big time and has been a no body. Again lets keep the proven guys not get rid of them especially the ones that the team can and is built around.

I remember Hill as being a high risk, high reward guy. I remember hearing a lot of people thinking he was nothing more than a track guy playing football. Hill was never as dominate as Peterson is.

It should be noted that I went to LSU and Peterson is my favorite player from there. I would not like to trade Hall or JJoe to get him, but if JJoe left then Peterson would probably be the best player on the board when we pick (assuming he is still there).

Leon is worth more than Patrick Peterson and would make considerable less money, and is a proven top 10 cb in the league? Drafting cornerbacks in the top 5 is a an awful idea to begin with besides the fact we have two really good proven ones on the roster. Yes, I know J Joe is a free agent after this year. Tag him or sign him.
