In lieu of the recent announcement that one of the greatest, a first-ballot hall of famer, retiring, I'd like to compare him to one of the Reds best ever in Barry Larkin.
Just who do you think, ALL BIAS ASIDE, is the better of the two. Even with all bias aside, I'd go with Larkin just bc he was a better fielder (3 GG to 4 GG for Guillen, but remember that the majority of those GG went to Ozzie Smith, the best defender EVER and a few others by Rey Ordonez. 5 Silver Sluggers to Larkin's 9 (most by a SS, ever). Now, I know you all are going to say that Biggio has 3,000 hits, but remember, he also has 3000+ more ABs than Larkin in his career. Oh yeah, and Barry has an MVP AND a WS ring. Plus, he always performed in the playoffs, whereas Biggio tended to choke (BA under .234 compared to one well over .338) Now, although I did say all bias aside, I fear I may be swayed by bias. What are your alls takes?

I dont't think you can hold not having won a championship against Biggio, alot of great players don't have one.
I sagree though, Larkin did not have the longevity of Biggio, but I think was more impactful when he played. If I was a pitcher I would rather face Biggio then Larkin.

In my opinion, Barry Larkin was definitely the best shortstop. But, I am biased also. I have always been a huge fan of Larkin! [:)]
