Default Crock Mock 2.01

Not much goes on in FA. Keep Nelson, Sims, Collins for sure. Jones will stay as well. The rest I could see leaving and be OK with it.

1. Janoris Jenkins - CB - Most of my hopefuls are gone at this point. Richardson, DeCastro, and Upshaw. Jenkins though is a big need and a great QB. I think he'll interview well, and when put on our D will settle in and be a well-behaved pro.

1. Dontari Poe - DT - I know its a bit far fetched grabbing this DT. But we saw our run D suffer at the end of the season. Poe is a bit raw, but has elite abilities. He's one of college footballs strongest players and is light on his feet. Makes our D-Line rotation much better with a bigger guy in the middle.

2. Doug Martin - RB - I think he falls. He is our next star to pair with Green and Daulton. He can do everything well.

3. Brandon Brooks - OG - It's a big late on grabbing an interior lineman. We may take a swipe in the first, but we've seen how our coaches rate the interior O-Line on the importance scale, and I feel that we will let it go in the first, and Martin will be to hard to pass on in the second. Brooks is a big strong machine and will be a huge upgrade to either Bobby or Livings. I look for either Hudson or Boling being ready to man the other side next season.

4 Juron Criner - WR - A good consistant WR. He will step in at our #2 spot and make for another improvement. I don't think he will put great numbers at the combine, which allows us to grab him in 4.

5. Donte Paige-Moss - DE - I'm all for giving elite physical talent a chance in rounds 5-7. Paige-Moss has some issues personality wise, and might not be the brightest bulb, but you can't argue his talent on the field. He may be IR'd next season, but could step into a situational role in 2013.

5. Vick Ballard - RB - Ballard would be a great red-zone/between the tackles runner. He's big and has some speed to match with it. Would be a great addition in overhauling the running game.

6. Janzen Jackson - S - A once promising DB at UT before being dismissed following a positive Drug Test. He then played last season for McNeese State. If he turns out to be a trouble maker, then we can lose him. I'd give him a chance.

7. Chase Ford - TE - A Chase Coffman type TE that I wouldn't mind giving a chance to develop which is what the 7th round is for.

5. Tom Compton - OT
5. Ernest Owusu - DE

I like brooks but I would be upset if the Bengals do not draft one of the following:
DeCastro, Glenn, or Big Z. Team needs interior linemen in the first 2 rounds of draft even if they sign a name like Grubbs or Nicks in FA. So maybe Big Z in round 2 and Martin in round 3. I like Ballard too. I like the draft.

I said this in another mock, but I'd like Dontari Poe for the simple reason that Pittsburgh wouldn't get him.

Our very own Vince Wilfork would be great.

Our run defense suffered because they were missing Pat Sims. Let's resign him.

The future of this team is Dalton and Green and they MUST improve the O-line so that we can get some things done offensively. Brooks is not the answer. They need to invest in Glenn or DeCastro. We've had very good luck drafting DTs in the 3-4 rd area. Let's continue that practice. I like Ballard and Martin.
