http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...st-round-pick/
Listen guys, getting a kings ransom for carson palmer has now officially put us in a great position for next year. For a first round pick, we can snatch up Mike Wallace from the steelers, and still have the 17th pick for whatever we want. Mike Brown, we know you love deep threat receivers, we know you love offense because it fills the seats. I guarantee you, if you bring Mike Wallace in for our 21st pick, you will sell out every game this year. Draft Decastro 17th, Give up the 21st for wallace, and Sign Either dominique foxworth or cortland finnegan to sure up the secondary, and this team is going to finally win a playoff game (as long as AJ green and Andy Dalton stay off the cover of madden, I expect you all to vote against them!). Yes, even with Marvin *GIGGLES* Lewis as coach, with AJ green, Mike wallace, Jordan Shipley, Jermaine gresham and dalton throwing to them, this team can finally compete. Heck you can even draft a guard in the 2nd who will be better than livings, and get Lamar Miller in the first and this team would be UNSTOPPABLE. please mike brown, from all your fans, get us mike wallace no matter what it takes! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As much as I would LOVE to see Cincy get 1 over on Pitt, it's not going to happen.
So hopefully a NE or HOU can do it for us. Thats the only chance Wallace leaves Pitt. |

It very easily COULD happen. He is a RFA, for a first round pick he can be ours, bottom line, and we can outbid pittsburgh until they cant afford him, they couldnt afford to franchise him, so they cant afford to keep him over us or anyone else for that matter. Wallace has no say in the matter

As long as Wallace is taken from the Steelers, I don't care who gets him. My hope is that NE or SF takes him.

Let me save you some heartache and break it to you now... Mike Wallace WILL NOT be a Bengal. It would be an ignorant move to give the squeelers a first rounder and pay out the *** for Wallace. There are plenty of other recievers out there that could fill the #2 spot that could be had for less than a huge contract AND a first round pick. Dumb, just dumb. You people that keep dreaming about the Bengals getting Wallace are F'N mad. All your doing is setting yourself up for disappointment.

He'd be an awesome get but not at the expense of our draft picks.

It seems to me that we have a chance to improve the team at six positions between the draft and free agency. To keep it simple, let's just say three free agents and three draft picks.
We could end up only hitting on four or five, but at any rate, that should be a lot of improvement on a team that had a winning record and made the playoffs. It is still possible to get Mario Williams, Ben Grubbs and Pierre Garcon in free agency, and DeCastro, Kirkpatrick and Lamar Miller in the draft. All that is probably not likely, I know, but the next two months hold out a world of possibilities. Going after Wallace is tempting, but it costs you on the draft side, and removes one of the possibilities. It would be exciting as hell to get him, yes. But when you think about all the progress we could make going to other way, well, that's pretty exciting, too. |

I dont think we would "get one over on Pitt" they would get our 21st pick and you know they draft well and will get great use out of the two picks.

IM pretty sure they would get the 21st pick. NE has 2 picks, and they get the 31st...... I think its ur teams pick, new england finished 2nd in the NFL, superbowl losers, hence the 31st pick. We finished 21st, first round playoff loss. the 17th pick is oaklands!

Lamar Miller in the 1st? How about no. I want Miller but not in the 1st round. Using the juvenile nicknames like giggles takes away from your entire post.

This. I'd rather keep our pick and let somebody else nab him.

Ok, instead of being negative ill give you this. If we were in the same situation say last year, and Both AJ and Julio were gone I'd say do it. I think Wallace had 8 td's last year and the most any other Pittsburgh receiver had was 2. I would love to take their best weopon away. But honestly receiver isn't as big of need for us as a lot of other positions. Pittsburgh has some holes to fill too and I don't want to see them get any younger through the draft.

Wallace is a good receiver, but he's a speed receiver, whereas we need a number two guy to be our possession receiver, so do you really want to give up our first round pick and the opportunity to build our team for a guy that won't do much for our offensive plans? You want a guy that's 6'0, 199 lbs to make that tough catch when we need a first down to move the chains? Also, we need a big target to be our possession guy. We could get a better fit in FA, and we could do it without giving a first round pick to our divisional foe, who needs draft picks to build their team. Giving up one of our first rounders for a position that we could get elsewhere, and keep in mind that they'd be better fits, would restrict us from building for the future. I'm over myself, and there ya go.

Wallace is not worth the price.....
And perhaps more importantly, we should never , ever, ever, ever, ever, ever give a division rival a first round pick. Ever. |

1. Not going to happen.
2. You are at least a week late with this discussion.

Hopefully, we act smartly and don't even extend an offer, thus keeping our extra pick in the first round. |
