Default Interactive Mock Draft 2012 - Bengals are On the Clock

Hey guys, I don't know if you may remember from last year or not when we ran the Interactive Mock Draft where the team forums of each team got to vote on which player their team should take.

Well we are doing it again this year, and the Bengals are on the clock. For most of these votes, it's been pretty cut and dry but this pick is going to be interesting. Lots of potential options here, I'm curios to see how you guys vote.

You can cast your vote for who you want your team to pick here:

Interactive Mock Draft

And if you explain why with a brief short description, I will pick the best one and publish it along with the pick in the results section!

I picked Wright...I think he'd be a fantastic option alongside AJ

bengals Re: Interactive Mock Draft 2012 - Bengals are On the Clock

Cant tell you how happy i think alot of us would be with this outcome. Be nice with opinions, remember were all bengal fans!
Each pick in preferred order.
#1a CB: Stephon G/Dre K/Janoris J. We need any one of these 3. Gilmore great in man defense(zimmer loves playing man), big and fast. Dre, very simliar to Gilmore, but plays his best football in zone. Janoris, probably better than the two, excellent cover corner, but is his attitude worth the risk at 17?
#1b RB: Doug Martin. The only running back i want. Ray Rice potential. Very explosive, great hands, strong upper body with tree trunks for legs. Only "everydown" back i see outside of Trent.
#2 OG: Zietler/Konz/Osemele. anyone of these is a strong guard for years, possible pro bowls. All three, Very big and very strong, with high football IQ's.
#3 WR:Brian Quick/Greg Childs/Marvin Jones. We get our WR #2 here. Good size good hands and good speed. Very athletic group...anyone of these three would ease the stress of jerome simpson. Whom id still resign.
#4 FS: Antonio Allen/Brandon Taylor. Both have great ball skills, great hands, and tackle well in open space. Great for our Safety rotation.
#5a DT: Derek Wolfe. Steal here! Good size. Outstanding motor. Fantastic Leverege!
#5b ILB: Vontaze Burfict/Or Chris Rainey. If Burfict is there, il take the risk for pro bowl potential in the fifth, if not lets get a Dexter Mccluster in the fifth. Homerun ability!
#6 CB: Terrence Fredrick. Fast and physical. Good leaping ability. Good ball skills.
Id also go guard with this pick based on availablity. It be nice to add depth at either pos.

This is like our worst case scenario.
I don't really want any of those players...

Maybe Glenn....but he's a reach at 17.

I just went with Courtney Upshaw. He's BPA and would provide more of a pass rush.

Now that we have Bell and Wharton signed, along with young talent in Boling and Hudson, I don't want to spend a 1st round pick on a guard unless it is DeCastro.

Upshaw at least upgrades our OLB position and provides Zimmer with an extra weapon to rush the QB with.

But I really wish Barron, DeCastro, Floyd, Coples, Kuechly, Cox or Brockers is there. I find it hard to believe that they are all gone by 17.

Really wanted to go with Perry, but in the end I thought Gilmore was a bigger need.

Picked Gilmore. I think he's got more upside than Kirkpatrick and he wouldn't be pressured to start right away given the depth we have currently. He also fills an area of a near future need.

Do you have a link for the 21st pick yet?

Are you sure the vote count is working? I just voted for Jerel Worthy 3 times and its still saying he has 0 votes?

I would be pretty upset if we get Gilmore at 17 which it is looking like by this we will.

He just isn't worth the 17th overall pick.

Gilmore is the best all around corner with out baggage, next to Claiborne. The Bengals need at corner is second only to the need at receiver, but good corners are much harder to come by.

Martin is not explosive. You could say he's consistent and be correct, but that does not mean explosive.

I went with Glenn because he is a major upgrade over anyone we are considering for the right side and with both Gilmore and Kirkpatrick still on the board, I'm thinking one of them will be there for us at 21

I went with Cordy.

It was a hard one though between him Upshaw, Poe and Perry. I was tempted to get that pass rush even better.

I would be happy with any of these guys at 17.

Not yet, should be up in a couple of days when we get to it. Right now its pick 18 and the Chargers are OTC. We do one pick each day.

I went Glenn, figuring we'd get a cb at 21, but very narrowly over Gilmore or dre.

I didn't vote for Gilmore cause i figured he would be there at 21 and i didn't think Glenn
would make it that far. Now that i think about it we could have taken Perry and improved
our pass rush much more. Remember that a good pass rush is a DB's best friend.

Since we got Gilmore we have to go with Konz at 21 if he is there IMO.

I feel Konz could step in and play RG right away and if we want to draft a Guard or get
another one in FA next year we can eventually move Konz to Center in place of Cook.

I like Cook but he is just decent and Konz could definately be better.

Well, Gilmore isn't happening this year.

We now have Hall, Allen, Clements, Pacman and Newman.
