Marvin was like a Chesser cat. He knows he had another good/great draft. The only missing piece to me was a really solid RB. He looks and talks confidently. I love it.

Yeah, I was a lil shocked to see him say World Champions with no emphasis or inflection... Just nonchalantly, yeah... We're a good team, and we know it. lol

He definitely looks more confident and I've also noticed he is also less irritable in pressers lately. The end of season presser last year is the most insight I've ever seen Marvin reveal about how he feels about his team and the next steps. It used to always be, "you gotta do the right things and do things the right way and take care of the little things". I'm noticing more compliments of his players. I really think he "likes" the players on this team and I'm not certain he has always loved the chemistry in the past.
I also like his confidence in Tate and Binns. May the best players win the #2/#3 WR spot. Great place to be in.

He seemed kinda giddy talking about Burfict. He knows we got a big time steal.

Loved the comfort that he exuded. It was like he was sitting there the whole time thinking "Yeah B I got this." Thought the Championship comment was the boldest comment I have ever heard him say. What I liked the most though was when she asked about Vontaze and how of course the Bengals would take him and he said we didnt pick him he was an UFA and other teams picked guys with a checkered past too. Cant wait for the season. Keep feeding us this offseason Marvin.

he wasn't as vague as normal. Kinda like "yeah I'll tell you what's up cause it doesn't matter we're still gonna beat some people down this year." Or maybe it was that chicks dress that loosened him up. I woul've spilled the beans to her too.

lol, I was thinking the same thing. Hope the pro shop has those.
I agree with most here, Marvin looks super confident.....I did like the "World Championship" remark also.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has Marvin ever said in an interview he thinks the Bengals have a legit shot at a super bowl? All I've ever heard was that "we'll be competitive", and "make it to the post-season". It's nice to hear to say the least.
I gotta say, I like the new Marvin. I also like that MB is finally behaving like an owner that doesn't know too much about football operations. |

He seems pretty confident in what they are doing. For him to say we should make a deep playoff run, if not a world championship, tells me he is sure of this team's potential. He has such good depth, we are talking about pretty darn good players as backups. That should make him confident.

I'm pretty pumped because he seems confident and sure of where the team is going and their abilities. He gave definitive answers instead of his normal giggle and "well, we'll have to see how the season goes," which is another sign, to me, that he has some control.
Starting to feel like a solid franchise, folks!

He did seem a lil different but i think some of you guys are looking too much into it. Also he has mentioned superbowl or championship during the 05 06 times when our offense was unstoppable.

Coming out of Arizona State, Vontaze Burfict was viewed as a risky proposition, and he ultimately went undrafted. But Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says he was happy to sign Burfict as an undrafted free agent because there’s no risk at all to that.
“I don’t know what down side there is. I think he’s a young man who has fallen from graces everywhere,” Lewis said on NFL Network’s Total Access. “Through the draft process, obviously at Arizona State, he didn’t play very well as a senior player. But when you watch some of the things he did on tape, he has the hips, the snap, he has the ability to play under and through blocks, and that’s what you’re looking for in a linebacker. We’re providing the opportunity for Vontaze. He’ll continue to get better. He’s changing his body physically from the body that played in the ’11 season at Arizona State. He’s a much lighter player now again, and I’m pleased with what he did last week in our rookie camp. I want to see him continue to get better and it’ll be fun next week when we get the full team out here in OTAs.” Lewis didn’t seem to appreciate a question about whether the Bengals overlook character issues with players, saying that there’s nothing wrong with giving a shot to a young man who will try to prove himself worthy of making the team. “We didn’t pick him,” Lewis said. “We signed him after the draft as a college free agent. There’s been a lot of players picked by a lot of teams that have had a very checkered past. This is all about Vontaze’s future and not what he’s done in the past.” Burfict still has an uphill climb to make the Bengals’ roster, just as every undrafted free agent does. But Lewis is excited to give him the chance.

We knew this already. Some were adamant that it was a risky move, but they don't know what risk is. Maybe Lewis saying it will convert some haters.
