I'll say this, for his production:pay ratio, Chad was a bad acquisition by the "vaunted" Patriots front office. But you'll hear nothing of the sort because they happened to make it to the SB with little production from him at all. Man, are they ever bulletproof.

interesting. that might be a good fit for ol chad down there. revive himself off the fiery guy cam is, not to mention steve smith on the other side? not bad. but i think gettis is gonna be good for car, & chad can only run out of the 1 spot.so no go. its gonna be tough, who wants a wr that can only run sloppy rts out of the X wr spot & could barely get on the field as a patriot. i feel sorry for the guy. maybe cle should take a shot @ him. when he jumped in there endzone after he said he was gonna score & do so, they greated him with hugs & drinks..

He was a running joke in the media the last 3 seasons he played here. Chad Johnson was a great player and helped bring a lot of positive attention to the team and city from 03-07, but Ochocinco was a distraction and nothing more than an average receiver who ran his mouth too much.

I hope he gets a ring, but I don't want him back on this team unless it's on a one day contract for retirement purposes.

I was kinda referring to before he became a distraction to the team.. (before the 08 season)

Up thru 07 he was one of the most exciting players in the nfl to watch.

I think Gettis and LaFell have potential also. Only way to really tell is if they're given enough snaps to further enhance their in-game play.

I like Ocho though. He and SS89 are still buddies....I think they could play very well off each other. But, I hope he goes to a team like the Dolphins, that need a lot of WR help.

Actually he had 7 fumbles and for a WR, you should not ever have that many. For supposedly as great as he was then why did he have this many? There's also belief in the Queen City that Ochocinco never played as hard again after being nailed by Browns safety Brian Russell in the 2006 home opener. "If I went with Tom Brady and didn't produce, I'd hang it up," Houshmandzadeh said of Ochocinco's 2011 struggles.

During recent OTAs, he also struggled to recognize zone versus man coverage. Even if it irked Carson Palmer, Ochocinco often got away with freelancing as opposed to running the correct route in Cincinnati. You know, it might not be such a big coincidence that the day Ocho gets released, the Jags release Kampman which opens up a roster spot.

And, with Jacksonville's uncertainty of the possibility that Goodell may suspend their rookie WR (Blackmon), it could be very likely the Jags pick up Ocho as an emergency fill in for Blackmon if necessary.

This might explain why people say Palmer was always staring down his receivers. Running bad routes was apparently acceptable under the Bratkowski/Marvin regime, at least in the case of Chad.

Anyway, I think it's pretty clear that Chad was nothing more than a great system receiver, which is fine, but it definitely won't get him into Canton.

I'm not going to argue the fact that Chad didnt freelance, a lot of us knew this for a while. I remember Housh saying this a long time ago, he use to help him in college too. But where are all the prediction posts about him being a cancer and how he was going to tear the locker room apart? At least he was a class act there, and he wasn't as bad in the locker room as everyone talks about when he was here (minus the 08) season.

As far as the Issac Curtis comment go look at his stats, its not even close to Chads. Chad right now will go down as the best or is currently the best until AJ Green breaks all of that hopefully.
